Explore an artwork through a short online talk, then create your own artistic response in the comfort of your home.
Join us online for Talk and Make, a one-hour creative workshop inspired by a selected work (TBA) from the 8th John Ruskin Prize exhibition, Patience in Looking, Truth in Making.
The session begins with a short talk exploring the chosen artwork, its materials, and how it responds to the exhibition theme. This is followed by a guided creative activity where participants will experiment with accessible making techniques, reflecting on the ideas behind the work and connecting them to their own creative practice at home or in schools.
Suitable for all ages and abilities, this workshop offers a practical, hands-on way to engage with contemporary art while exploring the ideas of slow looking, reflection, and creative making.
What to expect:
- Introduction to a selected Ruskin Prize artwork
- Exploration of how it responds to the exhibition theme
- Guided creative activity inspired by the work
- Practical techniques for home or classroom making
- Opportunity to ask questions and share reflections
