INTRODUCTION

We have a café available to let at TBW. Formerly known as the Bow Creek Café, it is situated in 4 converted shipping containers and includes kitchen, indoor seating area, external sitting area and separate store room. There are also public toilets beside it.

SIZES

  • The kitchen is in a single 20 foot container (155 sq.ft or 14.8 sq.m)
  • The internal seating area is in 3 x 20 foot containers (480 sq.ft or 44.5 sq.m)
  • The external seating area is around 300 sq.ft or 27 sq.m
  • The store room is in a 10 foot container (80 sq.ft or 7.4 sq.m)

SERVICES WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

All parties expressing an interest to take on the Cafe would need to fulfil the following requirements to be considered:

  • Opening 7 days a week
  • Weekday opening hours of 9am to 5.30pm.  Further hours would be welcome and subject to further discussion
  • Open during art events and special occasions
  • We are open to having elements of specialist food, but we also need the operator to provide a wider range of hot and cold food, drinks and snacks to cater for various different tastes e.g. vegetarians, meat eaters etc.
  • Have catering experience and have run a small business before
  • Full compliance with relevant health & safety, fire and cleaning regimes
  • Strong service ethos and entrepreneurial sprit 

PROCESS
If you are interested in this opportunity:

  • By mid-day Monday 11th December, we want you to send us a short and punchy proposal. To include:
  1. A basic business plan saying how you would operate the café, to include basic operational spreadsheets, how your funding works, how you will pay the premium and deposit and have enough working capital to build this business up with equipment and staff
  2. Your business and catering experience and how you will bring that to bear at TBW.
  3. How you will ensure good food, consistency across the week
  4. What marketing will you undertake 
  • 2 business referees will be required
  • We will shortlist parties for interview, with the aim of interviewing no more than 5 potential operators either in late December or early January, depending on the quality of the interest.  In addition we would visit any relevant operations you are currently running.
