Leviathan30 November 2011 | Leviathan by Living StructuresSpecial one off performances in November and December 2011
We are excited to announce the arrival of the critically acclaimed theatre company, Living Structures, who are embarking on a period of research, development and performances for their new show, Leviathan! Inspired by Herman Melville’s novel, Moby Dick,Leviathan tells the classic story of a power–crazed captain and his crew, incited to abandon their simple duties on board, manipulated to join an obsessive hunt in pursuit of an enemy whose very existence is uncertain… Melville’s tale addresses the predicament that individuals face when their duties and ideals clash, and our Leviathan questions the meaning of responsibility, obligation and integrity. A large–scale immersive performance with striking visuals and haunting music, Leviathan invites its audience to become an active part of the ship’s crew, reliving their adventures and ultimately faced with the choice to submit, or fight to keep one’s morals intact. Following the R&D Leviathan will premiere in 2012, but there will be a few opportunities to join Living Structures’ new show as audience for their development performances this winter. Tickets are £10 but very limited at last minutes notice – they are available to book on the Living Structures Website.
